Job Description
Tech Valley Talent (TVT) is an HBITS PRIME Vendor, and we have an opening for a Business Analyst.
DURATION: 30 Months
LOCATION: Albany, NY – Onsite
This resource will work to improve and expand the data warehouse and will support business intelligence systems.

- Tester - Conducts automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements. Develops and maintains user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams. Understands the view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence.
- Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his /her field
- 84 months of experience in developing test plans, writing test scenarios/cases/scripts, executing them and periodically reporting the testing results.
- 84 months of experience in utilizing various quality analysis techniques in Waterfall, Agile or any other adaptive SDLC methodology to derive and document testing scripts from business requirements. This includes creating and maintaining testing documentation throughout the SDLC (e.g., test case development, fit-gap analysis, validation of available process flows, mockups, sequence diagrams, wireframes, etc.), tracking and reporting of testing risks, testing inconsistencies and issues during all testing phases including integration testing, pilot testing and UAT.
- 84 months experience establishing criteria for validation of deliverable / ‘Done’ criteria, key testing decisions tracking, tracing requirements completion with testing artifacts, obtaining commitment and testing related approvals from the project participants.
- 84 months of experience in all types of testing (including functional, non-functional, regressions, smoke, integration, UAT, etc.) of applications, business process validations reporting needs and data sanity checks. This includes writing and executing various types of test cases, testing procedures & cycles, manual and automated testing using Selenium and/or similar tools, defects tracking, bugs resolution, periodic testing results communication and requirements-based validation/testing for final deliverables sign-off.
- 60 months experience in using SQL and PL/SQL and testing data management activities - data comparisons between legacy and new systems, data validation, cleansing, data migration testing, data integration and transformation testing. Writing SQL Server queries to test data sanctity, extracting data from legacy systems, merging functions, MS Excel data manipulations, etc.
- 84 months of experience in cloud systems such as Salesforce, Dynamics, Outsystems, & Java-based applications.
- 84 months of experience in developing testing metrics, using issue/bug tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, HP QC, MS TFS, Zephyr, SharePoint, etc.), implementing standard operating procedures for testing management and reporting, testing documents versioning, controlling changes, and upkeep of all testing artifacts in a dynamic environment.
- 84 months of experience in Selenium webdriver API, Jira/Confluence and similar testing applications including but not limited to HP QC, MS TFS, Zephyr, SharePoint, etc.
- Understand the business requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements and establish the testing strategy, testing plan and other testing and validation deliverables.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- In partnership with BAs, set-up and facilitate meetings with the business office to understand business processes (As-Is and To-Be), testing needs and report on testing progress.
- Working with all stakeholders, perform To-Be Business Process Analysis of the new Grants Management system.
- Routinely sending out testing meeting minutes, decisions, and action items to team members.
- Using quality analysis and validation techniques, translate and document clear and detailed testing requirements including test scripts, testing plan, defects/bugs tracker, validation of process flows, data flowcharts, mockups, wireframes, etc.
- Review these testing artifacts with respective members for feedback and secure timely approvals.
- Validate the data mapping of the fields between the legacy and the proposed new system.
- Perform manual and automation testing as needed for testing the new system including the core features, customizations, adaptations, and interfaces
- Create automated test scripts for the smoke, integration, and regression test suites utilizing different testing tools such as Selenium, Salesforce, Jira/Confluence etc. for the mission-critical and frequently used functionalities in the GF system.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for manual as well as automated testing to address business use cases.
- Document, report, track, assign, and escalate defects appropriately; perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved.
- Generate and analyze Test Automation Reports utilizing appropriate testing frameworks
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Pilot Testing
- Analyze business processes, functions and procedures across multiple functions and bring cohesiveness in all testing initiatives for optimal business and technical solutions.
- Operate in a hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) environment and actively manage testing requirements, change requests and user accessibility testing needs.
